Survey Design
Part of the beauty of the 3D survey is the inherent flexibility of the orthogonal geometry. The surface source and receiver locations can be virtually anywhere as long as the depths of interest receive adequate coverage for a full range of offsets and possess proper azimuth. This becomes especially useful when working around structures or difficult terrain. Before stepping foot in the field, Atlas always calculates the fold and offset distribution for a particular design to ensure the data quality will be suitable. To date Atlas has conducted numerous 3D surveys in challenging terrain including a small town and a Texas State Park.
